Get Involved!

First Steps' greatest success has been involving the community in developing solutions to their own problems. It is essential that all spectrums of the community -- parents, grandparents, the faith community, businesses, child care providers, non-profits, local agencies, government leaders -- are at the table to talk about these important issues.

Here's how you can get involved

  • Volunteer for young children in your community
  • Contact your local First Steps partnership to find out about volunteer opportunities
  • Find out how your faith community, civic group, or company can be involved in First Steps
  • Visit or write your legislator to tell them about the importance of early childhood development and to support programs for young children, like First Steps
  • Recruit others to volunteer to help a young child's early development
